Play Therapy

Play therapy is a form of therapy tailored to address and assist children's needs in a way that feels most natural and safe to them…..playing! The BBHC team has been trained in a variety of different play therapy techniques in order to best work with a multitude of differing issues that children might face. The BBHC play therapist works to create a warm and inviting atmosphere where the child feels safe and supported in order to share, connect, and express their feelings to the therapist.


At the Beckloff Behavioral Health Center in Dallas, TX, we have child psychiatrists who are trained for adolescent counseling and uncovering certain issues. We are also proud to offer virtual telehealth sessions.

Helping Children Learn & Cope With Behavioral Problems, Divorce, And More

  • Include developmental issues and areas such as depression, mood, anxiety, anger and behavior problems, and issues stemming from the environment, such as divorce, re-marriage, adoption, family reunification, school and traumatic events.
  • Also includes parenting the challenging child, whether that be the child with sensory problems, or the behavior/emotional issues in children.
  • Includes counseling with children diagnosed with unique differences including ADHD , Autism, Learning Disorders or Differences.
  • Can be about problems relating to an unexpected event. This can be the death of a family member, a traumatic experience, or any event that has had an emotional impact.
  • Many times may be about behavior issues, which may include making up a unique behavior plan for your child to motivate him or her in the areas of concern. Points are awarded along with prizes to help encourage your child in their progress towards success.
